Gina abdicates from Agape Community Christian Fellowship
There are two people (the Orolfos) who have served at AGAPE for many years and their son Given. Ironically, their names Aldrin and Gina mean ‘Wise Ruler’ and ‘Queen’.
In 2008 the ‘Wise Ruler ‘ - not unlike Elisha in the book of Judges in the Bible, was required by his God, to hand over his mantle of leadership, wisdom and humility to his dear wife Gina.
‘Queen Gina’ took up that mantel alongside her own and fulfilled the duties her loving God had given her. She humbly fulfilled her ‘queenly’ duties, diligently guiding the fellow servants of AGAPE - teaching, assisting with practical needs and just being there for those who needed a shoulder to lean on.
Aldrin & Gina began their life at AGAPE as ‘Squatters’ not having a home of their own. Over time God has blessed them as they passionately served Him and they were provided with a home and so much more – their cup has always been full and over flowing – sharing what they had with the communities around them, displaying God’s love so adequately. Gina tells us that she has been in Manila for over half her life and it is now time to return to her family provence to be closer to her siblings.
On 18th of December Gina & Given, uproot from AGAPE and fly to Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao. They will initially rent a home close to Gina’s brother and will be looking for a church that they can attend. It is Gina’s desire to seek the Lord as to how He wants her to serve and where. Please pray for them both.
All of the folk in the Church at AGAPE, the communities the church ministers to and the community around where the Orolfos live speak highly of them, They have been the purpose for the Orolfos to serve and they have been the support that the Orolfos needed over the years. The partnership has been God centred and a mutual blessing to all.
As far as Starfish Ministries is concerned, most will know that the Orolfos, in particular Gina, have faithfully served this ministry in the administration of the Student Scholarship Programme and many other facets of the ministry over time. We are sorry that she is relocating but fully support her in the move.
The Board have now appointed Gina as an ‘Honorary Associate’ to the Ministry to acknowledge her services.

Gina’s mantle will be handed to Dannah Cordial and Cath Quilay who will take over the Scholarship administration.
William & Wilma Quilay will be taking on the full time service role at the church. William & Wilma’s names both mean ‘Resolute Protector’ a fitting appointment – protecting and serving the church – and so the abdication is complete. |
