Who are we? What makes us different?

our vision & mission

We are a bunch of everyday kiwis who have been blessed by God and have realised we have a responsibility to reach out and bless others in return. We work with under-privileged communities in the Philippines, mainly in Manila and surrounding provinces. Our vision is to 'Empower significantly poor Filipinos to strive for excellence in nourishment, knowledge and wisdom.
Our primary focus is providing education scholarships to students of all ages from elementary right through to university graduation.
Empowering significantly poor Filipinos to strive for
excellence in NOURISHMENT, KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM
To achieve our vision we will:
*  Encourage others to partner with us.
*  Empower those who have significant need to help themselves.
*  Enable them to fulfill God's potential in their lives.

where do we do it?

Our ministry is focussed on 5 local church communities in and around Metro Manila, the capital of the Philippines, a mega city of 12 million people. Each of these communities are made up many significantly poor families who live with many daily challenges.
Agage Community Christian Fellowship in Quezon City
Payatas God's Community Centre, north of Quezon City
Balante Community Church, Morong, Rizal Province
Mountain View Bible Church, Calauan, Laguna Province
Bolobolo Christian Church, Rizal Province
These locations also have associated communities they are connected with and are reaching out to assist.

what makes us different?

* We are a small but growing, grass roots, Kiwi initiated Christian ministry.
* We partner with trusted, like-minded churches and organisations in the Philippines and assist with programmes they are already running.

* We walk alongside students and whole families right through from child-birth to university graduation.
* We maintain close personal connections with every student.
* We aim to empower and enable all students and families both physically and spiritually.
* We do not take any portion of donations given for administration.

our history

Picture
We began in 2008 following a short-term missions trip to the Philippines.

Our name reflects the old story of the starfish.

One day there was a man walking along a beach strewn with starfish.
As he walked, he picked up one and tossed it back into the sea.
Another man approached and said you'll never make a difference!
The first man commented as he picked yet another starfish and threw it back where it belonged.
"Well I made a difference for that one"
