Pastors & Full Time Workers

We also provide financial support, prayer and encouragement to selected pastors, church workers and missionaries in the Philippines. These are all local Filipinos who need to raise their own support and often struggle to make ends meet. This distracts heavily on their pastoral and missionary responsibilities so any support is extremely helpful. They typically work in small churches or communities that are unable to provide sufficient support for a full-time pastor or church worker.

Here we profile some who are currently seeking support or who we are currently supporting but require further assistance.
As from the beginning of 2022, William Quilay, along with the support of his wife Wilma, will be stepping into a part time pastoring role at Agape along with part time study. William and Wilma are currently looking for supporters as the church is not able to cover 100% of his salary and we at Starfish are not currently able to support them either. They come with our full recommendation and we are very happy to act as the conduit of support.
William has been an elder at Agape for many years and has owned and operated a family printing business. This is a huge change for him and his family and we would love to be able to pass on both prayer and financial support.

Gina has been part of the Starfish Ministries family from the very beginning — together with her late husband Aldrin, she became our first ever partner. For many years she served at AGAPE Community Christian Fellowship in Quezon City, coordinating our education scholarship programme and leading youth outreach. In 2021 Gina and her son Given moved home to Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao, to be closer to family, and in 2025 she was appointed a missionary partner of Te Awamutu Bible Chapel in NZ.

Today in Cagayan de Oro, Gina leads three weekly discipleship groups, walks the streets  sharing the gospel and distributing tracts, and has started "Solo Moms," a monthly gathering that offers encouragement and community to single mothers. Her steady faith and dedication continue to make a real difference — and along with others she'd love for you to be part of her support team.

Pastor Ever pastors a dynamic and growing congregation in a poor, densely populated area of Manila. He has been working here for a number of years and has seen the church established and grow significantly. He is well known and highly respected in the community which is a poor slum area near to a rubbish dump. It is a dangerous area with a lot of drugs, violence and other vices.

We at Starfish, support Pastor Ever and his family to work 2 days a week in the church and community.
