What on earth is moringa?

The Moringa plant is not well known in NZ. It is a tree that grows prolifically in South East Asia, especially in the Philippines where it almost grows like a weed. It grows quickly and is not heavily dependent on good soil conditions or regular rainfall. It is known by different names. In the Philippines it is commonly called Malunggay.

It has been gaining popularity for its high nutrition and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also known to be rich in anti-oxidants, keeping the body strong and healthy. Often described as a miracle plant, Moringa has been used for medicinal purposes and in cooking for many hundreds of years.​​

where does it come from?

These plants are grown by Care Channels in the Philippines and Indonesia, providing a source of livelihood for impoverished local farmers. The harvested plant is ground into a powder that is packaged into capsules that is convenient to consume.

These capsules are then imported directly to NZ and sold locally.
